PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric element which has very high piezoelectric characteristics and superior vibration transmission performance between a ceramic base material and a piezoelectric section, and has high lineality in flexure displacement with respect to an electric field and has high durability, even at long time use at high flexure displacement, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric element comprises the ceramic base material 2, piezoelectric section 1 formed of a piezoelectric ceramic composition which is composed mainly of, for example, a Pb(Mg,Ni)1/3Nb2/3O3-PbZrO3-PbTiO3 ternary-system solid solution composition, and electrodes 3 (3a and 3b). The electrodes 3 are electrically connected to the piezoelectric section 1, and the piezoelectric section 1 is fastened to the base substance 1 directly or via the electrode 3 (3a and 3b). |
