The invention concerns a ring for example made of cardboard, comprising a single blank (1) pre-cut so as to delimit a first rectangular strip (2), a second strip (3) consisting of several profiled segments (4) separated by openings and linked to the first strip by a longitudinal folding line, a third longitudinal strip (7) likewise consisting of segments (8) linked to the second strip by a folding line, and finally a fourth longitudinal rectangular strip (12) capable of being folded on the third strip along a line parallel to the previous lines, such that the second and third strips form a V-shape and the first and fourth strips are pressed one on the other, the assembly having a triangular radial section. Said ring is provided with self-locking means, consisting of folding ears (15) formed in the first and fourth strips and which can be inserted into a corresponding cut-out (14), a terminal ear of one end of the ring being thereby capable of being inserted into a cut-out (14) of the other end and folded down providing removable self-locking of the ring at the desired length depending on the piece to be enclosed.
