PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an AC generator for a vehicle that is superior in insulation and that extends the life time of diodes. SOLUTION: A centrifugal fan 38 is fixed on the end surface in the axial direction of ball cores 20, 21, in such a way as to satisfy the inequality 0.2<t/h<0.7, where 't' is the amount protruding in the axial direction of the fan with respect to the top parts of coil end groups 16f, 16r of a stator winding 16A and 'h' is the height in the axial direction of the fan.
