METHOD AND DEVICE TO MANUFACTURE MAGNETIC HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the precision and reliability of the slider which constitutes a magnetic head. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of a magnetic head with a slider 1 containing a thin magnetoresistive element (MR) film has a process to polish the slider 1 applying a predetermined load on it to determine the height of the thin MR element film exposed on the surface, and a process to apply a predetermined load on the slider 1 whose thin MR element film height is already determined to grind its surface to form a crown on it using a bed which has a predetermined curvature.
