PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that can readily insert/withdraw an infrared ray cut filter to/from a photographing optical path and allow a user to surely recognize its inserting/withdrawal state. SOLUTION: The image pickup device has a CCD 16' that has a 1st area on the surface of which color filters applying color separation to a received object light is placed and a 2nd area which is adjacent to the 1st area and on the surface of which infrared ray transmission filters transmitting a prescribed rate or more of the infrared ray lights in the received object light is placed, an infrared ray cut filters 61 that are removably placed in the photographing optical path leading to the CCD 16' and cut off the infrared ray lights in the object light and a CPU 30' that detects a removal state of the infrared ray cut filters 61 based on an output of the 2nd area of the CCD 16' and allows an LCD panel 21 to provide indication when the infrared ray cut filters 61 are not mounted on the 2nd area. |
