PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a AC type PDP(plasma display panel) with cell structure which makes discharge area for each cell enlarge by minimizing non-discharge area among cells, and also prevents discharge by fixing barrier ribs which surround each cell. SOLUTION: In this PDP, a pair of two scanning electrodes and a pair of two sustaining electrodes of a front panel are arranged alternately, and discharge regions are formed in the gaps between the scanning electrodes and the sustaining electrodes, on the other side front barrier ribs are formed on one of the sustaining electrodes. Here, the electrodes are formed as the front barrier ribs produce non-discharge regions, and also protrusion electrodes are fixed in the discharge regions.
