What is disclosed is a knife attachment for a knife of a rotary mower, comprising a shaft (3) which is rotatably mounted, locked against downward movement, in a passage of a rotary carrier plate (2) with an upper (during use) end. The shaft furthermore defines an axis of rotation about which the knife (1) can pivot with respect to the carrier plate. The knife is detachably connected to the lower end of the shaft in a fixed rotary position and it is located adjacently to an axial (seen in the direction of the shaft) stop (17), which is connected to the carrier plate, with its side facing towards the carrier plate. <IMAGE>
