PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tab not corroded by hydrofluoric acid generated by an electrolyte and moisture and a forming method of a surface layer a tab having corrosion resistance in regard to a portion of a lithium ion battery tab adhered to an exterior package body or an adhesive film. SOLUTION: The lithium ion battery tab is composed by housing a lithium ion battery body in a packing material comprising at least a base material layer, an adhesive layer, aluminum, a chemical conversion treatment layer, and a heat seal layer and sealing a circumferential rim part including a portion holding the tab by a heat seal. In the heat seal of the circumferential rim part of the lithium ion battery, conversion treatment is applied to at least a surface, a rear face and a side face of a heat-sealed portion. The conversion treatment can be phosphoric acid chromating, Mo, Zr, Ti (non-chromium) treatment, or triazine thiol treatment.
