PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner controller where a scanner control section has no CPU to reduce the cost and that allows a system control section having a CPU to collectively and correctly conduct reset management of the scanner control section. SOLUTION: In the case of configuring a control section with the system control section 10 controlling operations of each section and with the scanner control section 11 controlling a scanner, a CPU is provided only to the system control section 10 to reduce the cost. When the scanner control section 11 is kept to a reset state, the scanner control section 11 informs the system control section 10 about the state. Thus, the scanner control section 11 informs the system control section 10 about it whether or not the scanner control section 11 is kept to the reset state, the system control section 10 recognizes a state of the occurrence of a fault in the scanner control section 11 even when the scanner control section 11 is provided with no CPU, the system control section 10 can normally conduct reset management.
