In composite material tanks (12) for holding pressurised liquids, for tank water heaters in particular, the strengthening collar (1) on an opening consists of, according to the invention, an insert in the jacket (2) obtained through blow moulding and then wrapped with the strengthening layer (3). The seal can be ensured simply by a gasket (4); the indissolubleness and the seal of the assembly can be improved by considering a countersunk base (1.1) and/or one or more grooves (1.3, 1.5) and/or one or more series of circumferential scores (1.4); moreover, according to the materials used, the strengthening collar (1) and the jacket (2) can be welded together. The invention is particularly useful for obtaining, in composite material tanks (12), closing means having elaborate shapes, specifically flanged (1.6).
