A polymer electrolyte film which comprises a polymer film having a plurality of through-holes provided in the thickness direction and a proton conductor filling the through-holes, characterized in that a relative standard deviation (Lvar/LAve), wherein Lave represents an average value of the spaces (L) between the centers of adjacent through-holes and Lvar represents the standard deviation of the spaces, takes a value of 0.3 or less; and a method for preparing the polymer electrolyte film which comprises forming the plurality of through-holes in the thickness direction by the use of the photolithography and then filling the resulting through-holes with the proton conductor. The polymer electrolyte film allows the further improvement in the miniturization, performance capability and productivity of a polymer solid electrolyte film, and also, when used in a direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) using methanol as a fuel, allows the suppression of the permeation of methanol, which leads to the improvement of the performance capabilities of the cell.
|
