APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THICKENING DIGESTED HUMUS SLUDGE

PURPOSE: An apparatus for thickening digested humus sludge is provided which somewhat improves an existing thickening tank without addition of separate equipment in order to obtain concentrated humus sludge and digested supernatant liquid, and a method for thickening digested humus sludge using the apparatus is provided. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a thickening tank(31) consisting of a center wall(1) which is installed at the inner center of the thickening tank(31), and into which sporulated humus sludge is flown from a humus sludge culture medium; a slow agitator(2) which is installed in the center wall(1); a solid biocatalyst filling part(3) and a solid silica filling part(4) which are formed at both sides of the slow agitator(2), wherein a solid biocatalyst filler is installed in the solid biocatalyst filling part(3), and a solid silica filler is filled in the solid silica filling part(4); and a covering cover(7) which seals the upper part of the thickening tank(31) to cut off inflow of air. The method for thickening digested humus sludge comprises the steps of guiding germination and microbial growth of humus sludge in the sporulation state by maintaining the anoxic state that agitation speed of the slow agitator(2) is 5 to 15 rpm, agitation time is 24 hours, and dissolved oxygen concentration in the tank is 0 to 0.1 mg/L; and separately recovering supernatant liquid and thickened sludge which is thickened by settling the germinated and microbial grown humus sludge.
