Pharmaceutical composition for treating cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions e.g. angina, pulmonary hypertension, congestive heart failure, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, comprises a nitrate (I) and a 3-benzylamino-benzo[4,5]thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivative (II). Pharmaceutical composition for treating angina, hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cor pulmonale, right heart insufficiency, atherosclerosis, coronary vascular occlusion, peripheral vascular disease, stroke, bronchitis, allergic asthma, chronic asthma, allergic rhinitis, glaucoma, irritable bowel syndrome, tumors, renal insufficiency and liver cirrhosis comprises a nitrate (I) and a 3-benzylamino-benzo[4,5]thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivative of formula (II): [Image] R1>, R2>H, A, OA, OH or Hal, or R1>+R2> is 3-5C alkylene, OCH2CH2, CH2OCH2, OCH2O or OCH2CH2O; X : R7>-monosubstituted R4>, R5> or R6>; R4>1-10C alkylene, where one or two CH2 groups can be replaced with CH=CH groups; R5>5-12C cycloalkyl or cycloalkylalkyl; R6>phenyl or benzyl; R7>COOH, COOA, CONH2, CONHA, CON(A)2 or CN; A : 1-6C alkyl; Hal : F, Cl, Br or I. An independent claim is also included for a kit comprising a nitrate and 5-(4-(3-chloro-4-methoxybenzylamino)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-[1]-benzothieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-yl)valeric acid ethanolamine salt in separate packs.
