Preferably the material is moistened to produce a slurry, the slurry is screened to separate foreign matter therefrom and the screened slurry is compacted to extract liquid therefrom before conveying the compacted material through the treatment zone. An apparatus for carrying out the method is described. The dried material finds application as fertilizer. |
