The method involves adding transparent markers to the signals representing the contents at the transmitter end, at least one marker containing a call number for a content provider, establishing a paid connection to the provider's service connection, transmitting a temporary key to a connection and decoding unit, decoding the content and requesting a new key before expiry of the old one to enable continuation. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for fully automatic determination of scope of use of paid for coded transmitted program contents.
