PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle capable of maintaining the visibility of a virtual image of an image displayed on a combiner by preventing the virtual image from having a low contrast caused by the influence of external light casted on the combiner incident into the vehicle from the outside. SOLUTION: The combiner 5 is installed upright at a recess 1b provided in a dash board 1 located in front of an eye point I, and an image beam of an inverted display image emitted from a display device 3 inside the dash board 1 and having passed an opening 1c in the dash board 1 are reflected by the combiner 5 toward the eye point I, wherein the recess 1b in the dash board 1 is formed at its upper face 1a and the combiner 5 is arranged upright ahead of the opening 1c formed within the recess 1b, and thereby such an arrangement is established that the combiner is located outside the forward view field of the vehicle viewed from the eye point I.
