PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively support a thrust force applied to a cam shaft and reduce a size of an engine. SOLUTION: In this parallel four cylinder engine for motorcycle in which a crankshaft 81 is arranged at a front of a crankcase 50 in a motorcycle width direction, a projection 105 for thrust receiving is provided integrally with a cam shaft 100. A cam shaft 100 is driven by the crankshaft 81 at one end thereof, and the projection 105 is formed at a one end side of the cam shaft 100 and is engaged only to a bearing cap 102 of the cam shaft 100.
