PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment assembling method available for formation of a segment ring, which allows advantageous designing of a connecting bolt by imparting excellent mechanical performance to a connecting surface of a segment to be assembled last, and facilitates assembly of the segment ring by using a conventional erector. SOLUTION: The segment assembling method is carried out by arcuately assembling a segment SA along an internal peripheral surface of a tunnel to be constructed, arranging segments SBL, SBR adjacently to both ends of the segment SA, followed by inserting a segment SK into an interval between the segments SBL, SBR last, to thereby form the cylindrical segment ring SR. According to the method, when the segment SK is inserted into the interval between the segments SBL, SBR, the segment SK is inclined, and at the same time one end of the segment SK is abutted on an end of one of the segments SBR. Further, the segment SK is moved in a radial direction L1 of the segment ring SR and then circumferentially rotated, whereby the segment SK is inserted into the interval between the segments SBL, SBR.
