PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple soil sampling system for a geological survey, which is made low-noise, small-size, lightweight and highly mobile, and eliminates the collapse of a hole wall and bed pollution. SOLUTION: This soil sampling system is provided with a guide cell which is provided in a travel cart and has a prescribed length, a boring head, whereto a drill rod is coupled and which is mounted so as to advance/retreat freely in a lengthwise direction of the guide cell, a rotary motor 20, which imparts turning force to the boring head, and an inner tube assembly making an integral rotational motion by engaging with the drill rod. The inner tube assembly is not only provided with a down-the-hole hammer, which imparts percussion by fluid pressure, and a core gathering pipe mounted forward in a direction of excavation of the down-the-hole hammer but also carried into and out of the drill rod by a wire line equipped with an overshot. In addition, a fluid- pressure converting mechanism for switching the fluid pressure on the down-the- hole hammer between air pressure and oil pressure is provided.
