PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary metal piece that is used for the measurement of the dimension of a room before manufacturing tatami mats to be laid in the room and can easily measure it free from an error. SOLUTION: This metal piece is provided with a relatively thin head part 4, and a needle part 8 extended perpendicularly from the substantially central part of the head part 4 toward a head part face, and at least one recessed part 5 is provided in the periphery of the head part 4.
