PURIFIED POLYALCOHOL AND ITS PREPARATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a purified polyalcohol having a reduced amount of components derived from a homogeneous metal catalyst. SOLUTION: In the method for preparing a polyalcohol by subjecting a polyketone to be obtained by copolymerizing carbon monoxide and an olefin to hydrogenation reaction in the presence of a homogeneous metal catalyst and a solvent to hydrogenating the carbon-oxygen double bonds present in the polyketone, the solution containing a polyalcohol after the hydrogenation is brought into contact with a nonpolar solvent to remove components derived from the metal catalyst from the polyalcohol.
