PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counterbalance type forklift capable of securing forced ventilation extending over the whole area in a storing chamber storing electrical equipment to efficiently cool the electrical equipment. SOLUTION: This counterbalance type forklift is provided with a counterweight 5 in the rear position of a car body 4, and the counterweight 5 is provided with the storing chamber 6 formed for storing the electrical equipment 7. An intake hole 9 for communicating and connecting the inside to the outside of the storing chamber 6 is formed in the lower part of the counterweight 5, and an exhaust hole 10 for communicating and connecting the inside to the outside of the storing chamber 6 is formed in the upper part thereof. The inside opening faces 9a, 10a opened to the inside of the storing chamber 6 of the intake hole 9 and the exhaust hole 10 are disposed to be shifted from each other through the electrical equipment 7.
