摘要 PURPOSE: Provided is an improved method for producing carboxymethyl cellulose in a high yield by using a catalyst for separating the ion of alkali cellulose and a three component solvent, which increases the effective availability of an etherifying agent. CONSTITUTION: The carboxymethyl cellulose is produced by treating natural cellulose with sodium hydroxide to prepare the alkali cellulose and then reacting the alkali cellulose with the etherifying agent. The method for producing the carboxymethyl cellulose is characterized by using the catalyst for separating the ion of alkali cellulose and the three component solvent comprising 70-90wt% of isopropanol, 5-15wt% of methanol, and 5-15wt% of water, wherein the catalyst is an ethylene amine derivative or a polyalkylene oxide such as polyoxy alkylene glycol, polyoxy alkylene phenol, polyoxy alkylene ether, crown ether having an average molecular weight of 500-2000.
