PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a steering angle detector of a simple angle sensor so as to be unnecessary to reexecuteion initial setting, and to reduce the electric power consumption. SOLUTION: An MR sensor 5 attached to a rotary member rotated interlockedly with a steering shaft to detect a periodical angle position is connected to a CPU 12, and the CPU processes data from the MR sensor using a reference position stored in a non-volatile data storage part 13 to calculate an absolute steering angle including information of the number of rotations counted from the start. A low current consumption mode is made to be brought when ignitions off, so as to conduct computation by an intermittent operation, and a power source to the MR sensor is also turned off by a sensor switch 14. The initial setting is not required after a battery is detached, because the reference position is stored in the non-volatile data storage part. |
