PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a phenolic resin molding material which has excellent flame retardancy without deteriorating heat resistance, electric characteristics and mechanical characteristics. SOLUTION: This phenolic resin molding material is characterized by containing a phenolic resin, an organic filler and/or an inorganic filler, and a phosphorus-based flame retardant and melamine as flame retardants as essential components. The phosphorus-based flame retardant is preferably a mixture of 100 pts.wt. of red phosphorus with 50 to 150 pts.wt. of aluminum hydroxide and 50 to 150 pts.wt. of an phenolic resin.
