PURPOSE:To obtain a color forming part having absorption within a near infrared region, in a recording material utilizing the color development due to the contact of an electron donating leuco dye and an electron acceptive compound, by using a specific compound as the electron donating leuco dye. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by formula (wherein R1-R7 are H, an alkyl group or an aryl group, R8 and R9 are H, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or a halogen atom, R10 is an aniline residue which may have a substituent or an indole residue and a ring A is a benzene ring which may have a substituent, a naphthalene ring, a pyridine ring or a pyrazine ring) is used as an electron donating leuco dye. As a result, in a recording material utilizing the color development due to the contact of the electron donating leuco dye and the electron acceptive compound, the color forming part thereof has absorption within a near infrared region. |
