The fibre structure in the first absorption layer mostly consists of a first type of fluff mass with lower fluid diffusion properties, and a critical bulk exceeding 9 cm3/g at 2.5 kPa. The fibre structure in the second absorption layer to a major degree comprises a second type of fluff mass with a critical bulk of less than 8 cm3/g at 2.5 kPa and with a higher fluid diffusion property than the fluff in the first layer. The second absorption layer has high properties for draining fluid from the first layer, and incorporates super-absorbent matrial mixed in with the fluff mass.
