ILLUMINATOR, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND APPARATUS USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminator which is disposed in a sub-light emitting section disposed successively to the main light emitting section of a light guide and distinctly illuminate the indication around holes to be used for arrangement of parts, such as switches, a liquid crystal display using this illuminator and apparatus. SOLUTION: This illuminator is provided with the holes 4 and 5 in the sub- light emitting section 3 of the light guide 1 and light reflecting grooves 6 and 7 between the first side face of the light guide 1 where light sources 9, 10 and 11 are arranged and the second side face facing the first side face. The indication round the holes can be distinctly illuminated by these light reflecting grooves.
