PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar apparatus capable of radar observations of mist near a road surface without its radio waves being shut off even at highways in mountains, and capable of also of observations along the surface of a highway over an even farther range than normal ranges of radar observations. SOLUTION: The radar apparatus includes a radar apparatus body with a transmitter 1 for generating transmit signals, a radar antenna 4 for transmitting and receiving radio waves produced by the transmit signals, and a receiver 3 for processing the received signals derived from the received radio waves; and a relay unit having a first relay antenna 8-1 and a second relay antenna 8-2 for receiving, relaying and transmitting the radio waves. The radar antenna 2 transmits the radio waves and the first relay antenna 8-1 receives and relays the radio waves. The second relay antenna 8-2 transmits the relayed radio waves and receives and relays the waves reflected from a target. The first relay antenna 8-1 then transmits the relayed reflected waves and the radar antenna 2 receives the relayed reflected waves.
