PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for molding an optical disk substrate which can produce the substrate having stable mechanical properties by controlling the generation of warpage, waving, etc., even when a small-size thin optical disk substrate is molded, and to provide a method for producing the optical disk substrate. SOLUTION: The thickness of a cavity space 4 in the mold, when the temperature of the mold is increased close, to the temperature of a molten resin 5 when the resin is injected/packed in the cavity space 4, is adjusted to be equal to or smaller by a prescribed thickness than the thickness of the optical disk substrate 7 as a molding.
