<p>PURPOSE: To record and reproduce a bit stream which can perform tracking control bearing comparison with normal reproduction in which a data rate is '1' even at the time of normal reproduction in which a data rate is 1/r (r>1) by newly providing a data rate judging circuit and a reproduced tape speed control circuit. CONSTITUTION: Signals read out by heads 10a, 10b with scanning of almost same timing are inputted to a data rate judging circuit 32 as A, B signals through reproducing amplifier 12a, 12b. The data rate judging circuit 32 judges whether a data rate of a reproduced recording track is 1 or 1/r, and outputs a judged signal to a reproducing tape speed control circuit 34. The reproducing tape speed control circuit 34 controls tape speed at the time of normal reproducing based on a data rate with which this judging signal is detected.</p> |
