The subject of the invention is a grinding machine (2) with rotating endless grinding belt (20) which is guided over two deflection rollers (16, 18), the grinding machine (2) furthermore having a grinding table (6) on which the workpiece to be worked lies, and a grinding shoe (12) which presses the rotating grinding belt (20) in the grinding zone onto the workpiece to be worked. The grinding machine (2) can in this case be equipped with a known extraction device (22, 24, F, V) with suction line (22, 24), filter (F) and suction fan (V), which engages on the housings in which the deflection rollers (16) and (18) are encapsulated. According to the invention, the extraction of the grinding dust is improved by the grinding shoe (2) being surrounded by an extraction housing (26) which on its upper side has an opening to which a suction line (28) can be connected. This suction line can be connected to an optionally present central extraction device. By means of the extraction housing (26), the grinding dust emerging from below the grinding belt (20) is extracted immediately at the grinding zone.
