PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp socket, rich in versatility, to which electric wires can be directly connected, making the wiring to a lamp unit main body unnecessary, enabled to cope with various lamp layout. SOLUTION: The lamp socket 20 consists of an upper socket 21, a lower socket 22, and terminal members 23. For the upper socket 21, a bulb mounting part 25 is formed on a socket main body 24, and an electric wire connection part 26 is formed at the side part of the socket main body 24. The electric wire connection part 26 has two electric wire insertion grooves 30, 30 formed by side walls 27, 27 protruding from the socket main body 24, and a partition wall 28. For the lower socket 22, a connector housing 35 is formed at the lower part of a lower socket main body 34, and a terminal receiving plate 36 is protrusively formed at the side part. Terminal setting grooves 37 are formed to the terminal receiving plate 36.
