PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for allowing a plurality of nodes in a multiprocessor system to share a set of input/output device. SOLUTION: The system/device is provided with a cabinet input/output controller (CI/OC 216) which controls communication between a multiprocessor system nodes and a common input/output device 212 so as to allow the individual nodes to exclusively access one or a plurality of its target device. The respective nodes communicate with the CI/OC 216 through a service processor and the CI/OC 216 connects the various input/output devices and the USB controller 208 of the nodes with each other.
