PURPOSE: To prevent abrasion of a contact surface, and to easily manufacture a long-length slide base (a column), while securing accuracy of hole machining in a guide device. CONSTITUTION: The column 3 has a through-hole 3a. A shaft-like member 2 is inserted into the through-hole 3a. A plurality of pocket holes 4, aligned in a plane orthogonal to the shaft direction, are formed in plural stages in the shaft direction on an inner peripheral surface of the through-hole 3a of the column 3. The respective pocket holes 4 are provided with an outer race (a rolling body) 50 for rolling in the shaft direction on an outer peripheral surface 2a of the shaft-like member 2, and a support shaft 6 for journalling the outer race 50. The column 3 is composed of a plurality of divided columns 31, 32 and 33 divided by a cross section which is orthogonal to the shaft direction, and passing through the center line of the support shaft 6. |
