PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify constitution and adjustment of an optical pickup device capable of recording/reproducing to/from optical disks of both standards of a CD system and a DVD system. SOLUTION: In the optical pickup device which is provided with two or more light sources 1a, 1b and in which one of a plurality of light sources is selected, a luminous flux from the selected light source is condensed by a collimator lens 2 to enter on an object lens 7 and is condensed on the recording surface of recording media 8 (8') by the object lens to form an optical spot, the collimator lens 2 is used in common for a plurality of light sources, and moreover beam shaping optical systems 31, 32 which are arranged in the optical path from the collimator lens 2 to the object lens 7 and are provided with a surface 31a which selectively separates the luminous fluxes from respective optical sources into two directions by reflection and transmission and in which the cross section shape of one separated luminous flux is beam-formed from an elliptic shape to a circular shape and again coincides with the other luminous flux in the position and the direction, are provided. |
