PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PHS terminal for tracing capable of determining a position by starting tracing of a monitoring object such as valuables and a safe by automatically transmitting an abnormality signal when abnormality such as theft occurs to the monitoring object by using a position registering function to manage information about a current position of the conventional portable terminal, thereby recovering a stolen object and attaining a role of theft prevention. SOLUTION: The PHS terminal 1 for tracing can communicate with the host side of a mobile communication system and is characterized by providing an abnormality signal automatic transmitting means 7 to automatically transmit the abnormality signal to the host side in the case of the abnormality.
