PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable charging of a substance to be treated even during heat treatment by maintaining airtightness of a heat treatment furnace. SOLUTION: In thermal decomposition treatment equipment wherein a substance to be treated is heated in the heat treatment furnace 2 for thermal decomposition and generated dry distillation gas is burnt in a combustion furnace to effect treatment, a compression volume-reducing part 3 to charge a substance to be treated in the heat treatment furnace 2 through compression and reduction of a volume is provided at the front stage of a charge opening 24 of the heat treatment furnace 2, and a slide gate 4 to open and close the charge opening 24 of the heat treatment furnace 2 and a link mechanism 5 to press the slide gate 4 in a closing position to the heat treatment furnace 2 side are provided.
