The label carrier consists of a baseplate with fixing holes (18), regularly spaced cable grips (16) and two longitudinal slots (22). The slots are located above and below the cable grips and allow labels (30) to be brought forward adjacent to the cable grips for reading or retracted behind the baseplate. The labels which are made from a flexible plastic to allow entry into the slots have ears (32) at each corner to retain them.
