PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a read-only optical recording medium which has recording bits of a height of 100 nm or smaller by providing ruggedness with a locally deposited layer, and does not require preparation of a conventionally used stamper, consequently is manufactured in a effectively shortened time at an effectively lowered cost, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor, and more specifically to provide an optical recording medium where a film of high refraction material is selectively and locally deposited by the difference of the phase state of a phase change recording material and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The read-only optical recording medium has a structure having ruggedness realized by a layer deposited locally, for example, a layer selectively and locally deposited of a high refraction material by utilizing the difference of the phase state of a phase change recording material. |
