PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and circuit for improving the efficiency of a voltage regulator. SOLUTION: This control method for the voltage regulator comprises (a) a step for providing first and second charge storage devices connected so as to be switched between a voltage source and the voltage regulator, (b) a step for switching the first charge storage device between the voltage source and a connecting condition, (c) a step for switching the first charge storage device so as to be connected to the second charge storage device and the voltage regulator until an input voltage the voltage regulator drops below a predetermined level with the first charge storage device separated from the voltage source, and (d) a step for repeating the step (b) and (c). |
