Upright post for safety railing has a tubular structure with rigid support brackets for safety boards

An upright post (10) for supporting safety railings, e.g. on construction sites, has at least two L-shaped brackets (12) attached to one side and with the free ends of the brackets upwards. This enables the operator to drop railing boards onto the brackets. The other side of each post has stubs (16) with toggle catches (22) onto which tubular railing bars can be secured. The railing bars have flattened ends with holes to fit over the stubs.
