PURPOSE: An uninterrupted power supply apparatus is provided to prevent data loss by supplying power even upon occurrence of power outage. CONSTITUTION: An uninterrupted power supply apparatus comprises a step-down DC/DC converter(200); a diode rectifier(100) for converting an AC input into a DC input and applying the DC input to the DC/DC converter, wherein the diode rectifier has an output terminal with an input switching element; a battery unit(300) coupled to the DC/DC converter, and which has switching elements constituting a bi-directional rectifier circuit, and a battery cell for accumulating power through the bi-directional rectifier circuit; and a control unit(400) for receiving output signals from the battery unit and the diode rectifier, and applying control signals to the battery unit and the control elements of the diode rectifier. Output from the DC/DC converter is maintained while the power is accumulated in the battery cell during a normal operation. An output terminal of the diode rectifier and the current flow direction of the battery cell are reversed during a power outage, to thereby supply the power accumulated in the battery cell, to the diode rectifier and the DC/DC converter.
