A worm drive for converting a rotary movement into a linear reciprocal movement has a worm (2) which is rotatably fitted in a roller ring nut (1) and with a shaped wheel (5) engaging at a peripheral position with its thread. Said wheel surrounds the worm (2), is fitted eccentrically in relation to the worm shaft axis (3) and secured to and surrounded by an inner ring (8) of a ball bearing (10). According to the invention, the bearings (4) supporting the worm (2) in rotation abut both faces of the wheel (5) inside the roller ring nut (1). This provides a worm drive which is of simple construction and easily fitted.
