The twisting head, with a rotor for a cable laying machine for the production of industrial cords, has the rotary axes (D1, D2) of both shaft journals (13, 15) axially offset over each other along the rotor axis (A). They are at the smallest possible gap from the rotor axis (A), and sufficiently displaced from it so that the filament sections on their running planes (F1, F2) do not touch each other near the rollers (9-12). A further filament guide eyelet (19, 20) is at the rotor (8) for each filament (1, 2) over the upper rollers (10, 12). All the filament guide eyelets (17, 19; 18, 20) are at one side of the symmetrical plane (S) on each filament running plane (F1, F2). The two upper guide eyelets (19, 20) are on a lateral plane at right angles to the symmetrical plane (S) through the rotor axis (A).
