Method of making aluminium alloy plate for bearing

A method of making an aluminum alloy plate for bearing which is made by cladding a bonding layer (21, fig 2) comprising a pure aluminum or an aluminum alloy excluding Sn onto a bearing alloy layer (16, fig 2) comprising an aluminum alloy containing Sn. The method includes the steps of fitting a female portion 23a of a first roll 23 with a male portion 24a of a second roll 24, the first roll 23 having both axial ends with large diameter portions 23b respectively, and the second roll 24 having both axial ends with small diameter portions 24b respectively. Superposed plates of the bearing alloy layer and the bonding layer are passed through a roll gap G defined between the male and female portions and closed by the large diameter portions 23b of the first roll 23 so that the plates are rolled down at a reduction ratio not less than 50% while widthwise ends of each plate are restricted by the large diameter portions 23b of the first roll 23.
