<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool having a machine frame. SOLUTION: The machine frame 2 is provided with first tool guiding means 22, 36, and 40 for guiding a tool to a first guiding position. The first tool guiding means 22, 36, and 40 are formed as a movable portal column 22 having a first movable carriage 36, so that they can move in a first direction on a first plane with reference to the machine frame 2 or in a second direction rectangular to the first direction. The machine frame 2 is also provided with second tool guiding means 30 and 42 for guiding the tool to a second guiding position. The second tool guiding means 30 and 42 can move in a third direction on a second plane with reference to the machine frame 2 or in a fourth direction rectangular to the third direction, independently of the first tool guiding means 22, 36, and 40.</p> |
