PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate work by positioning a body part accurately in a reference position relative to a workpiece even if the stopping position of the workpiece involves variation. SOLUTION: The body part 63 is floatingly supported on a support bed 10 so as to be movable in each of longitudinal, lateral and vertical directions. When upper portions of a pair of positioning arms 14 disposed on a third slide block 13 hold the periphery of a camshaft 5 of the workpiece 8 in between, the positioning arms 14 move the body part 63 vertically and laterally with reference to the camshaft 5 to position it in a reference position using the camshaft 5 as the reference point.
