PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic matter treatment device capable of reducing the operating cost while maintaining high deodorization performance by using a deodorization vessel having an oxidation catalyst within, and directly discharging an off-gas from the device without any limitation with respect to the installation place of the device. SOLUTION: The organic matter treatment process using this treatment device comprises: passing an off-gas discharged from a treatment vessel 1 for subjecting organic matter to decomposition treatment, through a heater 7 placed at a midway point of an off-gas passageway 5 to heat the off-gas; further making the heated off-gas pass through a deodorization vessel 6 having an oxidation catalyst within, to deodorize the off-gas; and heating the unheated off-gas before passing the treatment vessel 1 through the heater 7 and also preheating the air supplied to the inside of the treatment vessel 1 by the off-gas passing through the deodorization vessel 6. |
