PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reamer that can finish a spindle hole cut, for example, in an aluminum baseplate for a hard disk drive(HDD) spindle motor to severe requisite precision by suppressing workpiece deflection and contraction of the diameter of the hole due to elastic reversion after machining. SOLUTION: A cutting edge tip 4 is brazed to the peripheral point of a cylindrical shank 2. The chamfer angleλof a cutting edge 5 formed in the tip is set at 90 deg., and the back taper of a cutting part 6 is set at 0 to 0.015 mm/100.
